The Innocent

Mon 3 Aug 2026 15:00 - 17:15 Manor Pavilion, EX10 8RP

A powerful musical telling of the story of Thomas Helliker, the "Trowbridge Martyr", a young woollen worker hanged in 1803 despite maintaining his innocence. Written by Mick Ryan with music by Steven Faux, and featuring Bob and Gill Berry, Dave Webber and Anni Fentiman, Bryony McGinty, Rosie Upton and Dave Bordewey, this moving blend of song, music and spoken word explores injustice, industrial change and the human cost of progress.

Included in All-in-One Week, All-in-One Weekend, Week Season and Monday Season tickets. Limited advance event tickets available.

25 & Under tickets tickets are £10 (limited number). Children (0-11) are free.

Ticket holders can book single night camping at the Festival campsite at ticket holder rate.

The Manor Pavilion is a traditional theatre space, ideal for many of the special Sidmouth shows.
In the heart of town, it is an intimate venue with comfy theatre style raked seating, and bar for those interval refreshments. If you’ve been to events at the Manor before, you will know it is a beautiful theatre full of charm, history and character. Much like many of the events that we host there.
